In India, dogs live alongside humans, much like their first-to-be-tamed ancestors. They shelter at the peripheries of habitation, feed on leftovers and scraps, and if they are lucky, learn to navigate human and vehicular traffic without loss of limb and life. Most people treat them like … well, dogs.
I have written a series of short stories to help people see them as sentient beings. Dogs love, grieve, and feel emotions just as humans do. I hope these stories will spark compassion, kindness and a desire to make their lives better.
You can read a couple of these here.
